MARSEILLE-PROVENCE 2013, European Capital of Culture
TROPIQUE is an immersive installation which plunges the visitor into the heart of a clouded space, sculptured by light and sound. An artificial world endowed with perceptive intelligence reacts to the movements of visitors, building a dynamic space, in which gestures and behavior disturb and enrich a pre-existent element. What is revealed is imperceptible most of the time, as a spotlight on our ecosystem and its interrelations. [video]

The project's ambition is to gather artists and scientists interested in common problems concerning the perception around the subject of creation: a researcher in neurosciences, Laurent Perrinet, an engineer in captation, Julien Marro-Dauzat, a composer, Wilfried Wendling.
This installation joins the programming of the 3rd part of MP2013, Innovart, chronicles of the possible worlds, supported by a residence of arts/sciences research in the IMéRA (Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Researches of Aix-Marseille). In partnership with the Institute of Neurosciences of la Timone - CNRS (National Center For Scientific Research) / Aix-Marseille University, and supported by Seconde Nature, this dynamics took place in a Workshop of EuroMéditerranée questioning the mobile borders of the artistic activity in digital regime.
